Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is often associated with back, neck, and shoulder pain, but it can also be an important part of helping people move and function more comfortably. Many people choose to make chiropractic care a key part of their overall wellness lifestyle!  At McCann Family Chiropractic, Dr. Matt takes a personalized approach to care, focusing on joint motion, mobility, and the individual needs of each patient.

Relieving Pain and Improving Mobility
Many people first visit a chiropractor because pain or stiffness is interfering with everyday life. Chiropractic care may help improve mobility and reduce discomfort associated with:

  • Back pain
  • Joint pain
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Muscle tension

Supporting Whole Body Wellness
Chiropractic care looks beyond where you may be feeling discomfort. Dr. Matt considers how the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system work together and how your movement and function may be affecting the way you feel.

While many people initially seek chiropractic care for back or neck pain, patients often have other health concerns as well. Chiropractic care is not a treatment for every condition, but improving joint mobility and musculoskeletal function can be an important part of an overall approach to health and wellness.

Personalized Treatment
Dr. Matt uses several chiropractic techniques, allowing him to tailor care to the individual needs and preferences of each patient. Depending on your condition, comfort level, and goals, he may use one or more of the following approaches:
  • Diversified Technique – A widely used chiropractic approach that includes hands-on techniques to adjust the spine and other joints and improve joint motion.
  • Impulse IQ – A computerized, low-force adjusting instrument that delivers controlled impulses to specific areas. The instrument provides feedback during the adjustment, allowing Dr. Matt to tailor the amount of force used.
  • Thompson Drop Table – his technique uses a specially designed chiropractic table with sections that gently drop during the adjustment, allowing Dr. Matt to use less force.
  • Activator Adjustments – A small, handheld instrument is used to deliver a gentle, controlled impulse to specific areas of the body.
  • Webster Technique (Pregnancy) – A gentle chiropractic technique focused on the sacrum and pelvis during pregnancy, with the goal of improving pelvic function and reducing tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments.
  • Pettibon Rehabilitation – Dr. Matt incorporates select rehabilitation exercises from this approach to support joint motion, posture, and spinal function.

Which Approach Is Right for Me?
What sets Dr. Matt apart? He cares, and he listens. He takes the time to get to know you, understand what's bothering you, and learn what you hope to accomplish with chiropractic care.

During your consultation, let Dr. Matt know about any pain or discomfort you're experiencing, changes in mobility or activity, and any other health concerns that may be relevant to your care.

Dr. Matt's approach is personalized and thorough. When recommending care, he'll consider your symptoms, examination findings, overall health, comfort level, preferences, and goals. From there, he'll determine which techniques are most appropriate for you.

Wellness is just around the corner!
