Once a chiropractor has done a thorough evaluation of the spine and has determined that there are subluxations, he or she will recommend a course of care to address this problem. Once identified, the chiropractor will remove the subluxation by gently moving the bone which has become less mobile. This is called a spinal adjustment. Some techniques use only the hands of the doctor to adjust and remove subluxations, while others use specialized hand-held instruments or chiropractic tables to assist the adjustment.
