Hello.  Let's journey together!

Do you have "full coverage" auto insurance?

Having handled thousands of car accident cases the most common thing that we hear from clients is that they have full coverage.  Unfortunately, full coverage is a blanked term used by insurance agents to make you think that you are getting the best deal compared to other carriers.  Full coverage should mean that there is ample coverage for everyone in your vehicle as well as the other vehicle in the collision.

Well over 50% of Washington drivers are either uninsured or underinsured and we see many tragic collisions where there is not sufficient coverage to even pay for the medical bills.  This leads to many of our clients needing to reach out of their own pockets to pay for treatments, even when the collision was not their fault.  When this happens, many people are unable to afford to get treatment and will suffer for the rest of their lives in pain

We believe that it is absolutely essential to add both Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and Uninsured Motorist (UIM) to your car insurance policy.  In the state of Washington, PIP limits start at $10,000 worth of coverage and usually cost less than $10/month.  PIP will cover you and any of your passengers if you are the driver in a car accident whether it is your fault or the fault of the other driver.  If you are a passenger in any other type of collision you will be able to use their PIP first and then you can use your PIP benefits.  PIP will cover you if you are a pedestrian and are hit by a vehicle.  It will also cover time loss at work after a collision and can even cover hiring a house keeper in certain circumstances.

Uninsured motorist (UIM) is also important because about a quarter of Washington drivers are on the roads without car insurance.  On top of that, the minimum insurance limits are only $25,000 and that has not been increased for over 30 years! UIM will not only give you coverage after a collision if there is a hit and run or an uninsured motorist but it will also cover you if the other driver doesn’t have sufficient coverage to cover your injuries.
At Seattle Injury Law, we believe that your health and wellbeing is your most valuable asset.  We believe that every injured victim should receive sufficient treatment for their injuries and not be pressured by the insurance company to close the claim early or settle a claim.  If you have questions about your policy or want to know if you have sufficient coverage feel free to contact us at any time.
