Hello.  Let's journey together!

Tiptoe Through the Tulips!

Every spring, Monica heads up to Mount Vernon to the sensational tulip festival.  This year, along with the four littles, she brought  our amazing massage therapist (and dear friend!) Erin to introduce her to this absolutely stunning local (and beyond) favorite!

RoozenGaarde, a division of the Washington Bulb Company, is the largest flower bulb grower in North America.  They own over 1,000 acres of tulip and daffodil fields in the Skagit Valley.  Their amazing display garden is filled with color and provides five beautiful acres to stroll through before you head out to the fields. This "little" display garden has over a quarter million bulbs!

The company is owned by the Roozen ("rose" in Dutch) family, and they have been farming tulips and bulbs since the 1700s in both Holland and the United States!
And before we get too far into these gorgeous tulips, if we can help you get some more spring in YOUR step, please contact us and let us know how we can help!

We spent a full hour strolling the beautiful display garden.  The boys were getting a bit antsy, though I think Erin and I could have stayed for hours.  We decided to head out to the fields, and took a left to head North towards the daffodils.  If you didn't know, Erin adores alpacas, and we also stopped to wave and say hello to this fluffy pack.

The daffodils are in their final stages of bloom for the year, but we were still amazed at this "yellow brick road" stretching out across the valley.  The yellow is just stunning against the backdrop of a blue sky pacific NW day.

Truth be told, the middle boys were thrilled we were now out in the fields.  And, the flowers weren't the attraction.  They could not believe the size and number of mud puddles available for jumping in, over, and through.  A little boy's paradise.  And, yes, boots are a great idea if it's your first trip to the fields!

After plenty of time splashing, and only one minor (but messy!) fall into a puddle... we kept walking on our way to the tulips.  The magnitude of color and beauty is something you will have to go and see for yourself.  These pics just don't do it justice.  Acres and acres of color.  Hundreds, thousands of rows of color.  Stunning and beautiful.  It just takes your breath away.

After all this walking (over 5,000 steps!) - we took a walk back to the food stand for some kettle corn and made a stop at the gift shop to share some tulips with friends.

What an amazing way to spend a Monday morning.  Friends, sunshine, smiles, and beauty that is hard to rival.  We hope you enjoy the Spring as much as we do!
